Orr’s Island Library is a community library open year round to all residents and visitors to the Town of Harpswell. It has a significant collection of mysteries and other fiction, children’s books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs, as well as reference books and wireless computer access. OIL also has a growing collection of Maine-related books and genealogical material.
Curtis Memorial Library provides on-line access to the library’s own catalog, and the catalogs of all Maine libraries, through MINERVA, in addition to an events calendar for the library and other local cultural organizations. CML’s website also has links to many useful reference resources, and to the websites of other organizations. Also of interest are the many digital items Curtis Memorial Library makes available to patrons via their downloads page.
Portland Public Library provides library cards to Harpswell residents free of charge. With this card patrons can not only check out physical materials, but also a wide variety of digital materials. Thanks to PPL’s “PALS” program, Cundy’s Harbor Library is now able to issue Portland Public Library cards to Harpswell residents. Be sure to check out the wide variety of movies, tv shows, audiobooks, music, ebooks, and comic books available to download with your PPL card via hoopla.
Maine State Library, in Augusta, Maine. MSL is the central library of the Maine library system (of which Cundy’s Harbor Library is a member).
